Take off to Thailand, the land of smiles

Wake up in the land of smiles, named so because everyone around you quite literally beams. Maybe it’s because of the bounty of beautiful beaches. Maybe it’s because of the laidback lifestyle. Maybe it’s because of the enchanting rainforests and majestic mountains. Maybe it’s because of the tranquility of the many untouched islands. Likely, it’s all of these things. Even a short holiday here will have you smiling each day too, with each new experience and every new place you explore.

The hustle and bustle of Bangkok
A city of contrasts, ultra-modern shopping centers sit beside 200-year-old village homes, glistening temples are only a stone’s throw from neon-lit city strips, long-tail boats glide past tail-to-tail street traffic, and street food carts are overlooked by skyscrapers offering the finest restaurant experiences. You never know what to expect next in Bangkok, which makes exploring this city so much fun.

Islands of paradise
Beaches are endless and everywhere in Thailand. Its two jungle-topped coastlines serve up the most idyllic beaches, with islands that rival paradise scattered all around in the warm crystal waters. If you can surf, Ko Lipe is the place for you. If diving with whale sharks is your kind of adventure, visit Ko Tao. If you’re looking for the party scene, you’ll find it in Ko Phi-Phi. Or to spot monkeys climbing craggy cliffs, head to Krabi’s Railay beach. And for a more tranquil time, Ko Samui is the place to really relax.

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai
Chiang Mai feels like a sleepy country town surrounded by lush green countryside. Here, you can explore pristine rainforests filled with waterfalls and elephant sanctuaries. Thailand’s northernmost province Chiang Rai is home to dramatic mountains and the lowland Mekong River floodplains, offering plenty of enchanting landscapes to explore.

Tucking in, in Thailand
Pungent lemongrass, searing chilies and plump seafood – spicy, sweet, salty and sour – Thai cuisine is an exciting experience for your taste buds. Check out the many noodle shacks, seafood pavilions, and Burmese market stalls for authentic, fresh street food.

When’s the best time to visit Thailand?
Thailand’s rainy season is May to October, its cool season is November to February, and its hot season is from March to May. The cool season is a lovely time to visit because temperatures can still reach 30°C compared to stuffy 35°C in the hot season. Keep in mind though that the cool season is also the bustiest time of year.

Here at TravelUp, we know how to do Thailand right – taking you to all the highlights and hotspots, for the best price. So why not put us to the test and challenge us to find you the perfect holiday to the land of smiles?
